Why is it taking me so long to relate to and fall in love with this story? It's dragging, and I'm fighting to plough through.

I am glad I didn't DNF this when I thought about it. Not because it was "bad" but I wasnt connected to the characters like other books. But I held on and I am glad I did. The story is finally gaining enough traction that I am connect to it enough to have a meh connection to the characters.
