This writer seems to think having a thought is clever and cunning. I can’t with how seriously she takes herself. A book should show us someone is clever and cunning instead of telling us. Biggest pet peeve. I’m not really enjoying this book as much as when it started…

These last couple of chapters have felt…immature. The writing is all swagger and cringey and confusing in a bad way. It feels like a lot of posturing, the plot is all over the place and there are a lot of character inconsistencies. One minute S is a badass and another she’s squirming away from Sorin because of an intense look 😅 feels kind of silly. It’s not having the effect it’s going for.

Scarlett’s mother is the queen of the west? So Scarlett is the heir of the western fae kingdom, lost princess?

Fae introduced. Prediction: ryker is far because he can smell Nuri. Scarlett is probably fae or half fae. The tonic might be to keep whatever comes with that at bay. Nuri knows something.

I can see this author is a fan of SJM. There are parallels to throne of glass series and Scarlett does remind me of Celaena. Ryker seems to have a Rowan vibe but not quite and Cassius feels like Cassian from ACOTAR. Let’s see where it goes.
