Today I read about the why the author wanted to write about this complex. Basically, she wanted to pay tribute and educate others about how influential and historical these building and the site itself are on society. Overall I was impressed with the amount of information this book provides about the complex historically, architecturally, and economically.

Today I read about the surrounding buildings of the WTC which offer more luxury to the site. World Trade Centers 3,4,5,and 6 have all types of stores and eateries on the Church St. side of the complex. Though inside of each buildings lobby there is some type of symbol to show remembrance to 9/11. Than there is WTC 2, which is 92 floors and is designed that it looks like seven cubes stacked upon each other.

Today I read about St. Nicholas Church at the WTC site. The church is based off of various cathedrals around the world and is surprisingly modern inside. This church provides a place for people to pray and worship every day. The church brings even more peace and healing to the ground and is a very nice touch.

Today I read about the PATH train station at the World Trade Center. The building is designed to look like a dove bringing more peace to the site. Besides this, it is important because it connects the World Trade Center complex to the rest of New York and New Jersey. Inside, there is things to do while waiting for like a mall and restaurants. This part of the complex is the transportation hub.

Today I read about the construction of the 9/11 memorial. I believe they got the memorial right. The amount of detail put into the pools and the surrounding areas ensures we will never forget. The ground is now a place of healing.

In the next chapter I read of the whole time line from the first beams being placed in 2006, to the last part of the spiral being attached in 2013, and the building opening to the public in the summer of 2014. There were over 1 million visitors in the first four months of the building opening and various ceremonies and christenings at the site.

Today I read about the construction of One World Trade Center. This chapter talks about the men who built and the evolution of the tower during construction. Lots of political turmoil held up the completion of the tower but after that everything was routine and the building was completed in 2013. Ironically, lots of the construction worker's parents had worked on the original twin towers.

In the the next chapter I read about the design of One World Trade Center. I read that the building changes shape from a square to a octagon and back to a square. This design ensures that the building is wind proof and is stronger than the original twin towers. The new towers ha a three story communications ring at the top with a four hundred eight foot spiral to finish of the building, making it exactly 1,776 feet.

In the second chapter of "One World Trade Center" I read about the first building completed in the new World Trade Center complex, tower seven. I read about it's lobby that has LED panels to lighten the area or to share news messages. The new tower seven has a similar design to the original World Trade Center Seven.
