Why is Alma 11? 😭 I’ve been imagining her as 16 ish this whole time. The latter half of chapter 5 feels veeryyy teasy flirty with Aster’s reappearance. And her narrative voice AND her actual dialogue doesn’t feel like that of an 11 year old’s. I hope I either misinterpreted when she talked about being 11 or there’s a time skip soon 😭

the stereotypical nineteen year old girl with a deadbeat dad and a dead mom and a ancient deity taking the form of a hot white boy who is obsessed with her is actually kinda working for me rn

I like it so far. I do wish this introductory part went a little quicker. So far, it’s mostly been Alma’s dad bringing her places and meeting people. Her interactions with her dad feel a little cold, which I think was the intention, but I wish they leaned a little more into the coldness because he just feels a little bland rn. I wish Alma’s mom dying was also a surprise. But thats aside i like it :)
