I knew it was coming and it still surprised me. I finished the first of three mysteries in volume one - having been turned on to the book as a twisted horror, I initially felt underwhelmed. At the climax of the first mystery, the creepy and vivid imagery really got me. I appreciate that each new clue unfolding offers another surprise.
