I have an AWFUL habit (talent) for reading books that burden me with lists of new reading material. 30% of the way in and I have at least 15 book recs? Help.

i went into this book thinking it would be like its description: how to maintain hope in the face of despair. however throughout the book i found myself having the same question come forward: how DO we maintain hope?? and not once was it answered. i will say the author put together an amazing collection of political defeats, but i left every reading session feeling….. burnt out. i expected something different :/
