Status Updates From Black River Orchard: A Novel

This is my first Chuck Wendig book and so far I’m loving it especially his use of parentheses as I frequently use them too. The only part so far I didn’t like (although it does an amazing job of propelling the story forward) is The Barn Cats Story. I’m not far enough along to know if it will come up again, but I just can’t stop reading this book.

I mean, I knew a book about an apple cult was gonna get freaky, but I was underprepared for the level of YUCK! Never looking at apples the same.

I already feel like this book is going to be too long and the excessive use of parentheses is annoying 🙃
