He's her secret weapon she planted in the Sui court basically. I assume the plan is to take down the Sui dynasty because she hates them for usurping the throne

I just reread the extras of Thousand Autumns to refresh my memory, and so many things are now clearer but also more confusing (at least the timeline). Because it feels like some stuff from the extras are now kind of spoilery since they haven't happened yet in Peerless timeline
