Status Updates From Camp Damascus

I have a lot of thoughts and I’m not sure. I think it was exactly what it was promised to be but I thought it was going to be completely different. The ending was a little fast paced and there was some more things I wanted them to explore and I wish we got to know some of the aftermath. It would’ve been hard to but I feel like the ending is a cop out. I still really liked it!

There’s less than 30 pages left and I’m scared it’s gonna feel rushed

It’s very short but doesn’t feel that way

I do fine the idea of the church connecting demons to the gay kids a interesting idea I think it’s a great metaphor

I thought it was going to be set at the conversion camp because it’s the big premise but since it’s not and her memory has been erased it’s ruined any kind of surprise. I think the foreshadowing ruins the suspense and mystery and while shes supposed to be unaware the little things she knows tells the reader exactly what’s going on. I would like it a lot more if I hadn’t seen it coming a mile away

Not what I thought it was gonna be but not bad

I think I know where this is going sort of, but some of it isn’t adding up

I don’t know how I feel about the writing, but I really like the premise

Not exactly what I was expecting but I love the opening scenes of horror books especially when it starts on a sunny summer day and the author is able to make it feel unsettling
