Felt unnecessarily complicated and strayed too far from the original plot.

Really sick twisted stuff. I have to force myself to stop squirming and just plug along.
No knock on the story. That's halfway decent.

I never put books down. This might be the exception. The sexual content is perverted. If the protagonist were not a victim, it would just be awful. I don't know what it is about the protagonist being a victim that makes it any different. It is fiction, right? Oh my, am I going to finish? One condolence; it, at least, seems written fairly craftily.

You have to have some tolerance for sexual perverts.

The gentrification of the mission district is real smh, so many of the local asian and Latino community are being kicked out with higher rent… makes me kinda mad our white protagonist is moving into the district 😒
