Some books claim to be left on a cliffhanger. This book literally is the most intense cliffhanger I have read. I am so emotional. Is it me? Is it the book? Is it the emotional fantasy music with the book? 4.75 stars for sure.

Katha has to deal with another death?? Even though he was in the wrong, his love for her was so beautiful and it hurts me to imagine all those years he was separated from her only for him to die, still clinging onto the hope of being with her. My goodness.

Not where I thought the story was going but I love that I wouldn't have guessed. Our man got shot with poison, younger brother couldn't finish him off, our girly girl is stuck as a prisoner with weird runes and milky eyed people who steal bones, and the dinner scene with that... creature??? I don't know where we are going, but I'm enjoying the writing and the characters. It is so refreshing.

Why is this indie published book literally better than every other romantasy trad published???

Characters that feel real. Writing that almost made me cry already. Love and relationships for EVERY AGE (youngest daughter to her mother).

The yearning. The way that trejen wants his old flame. The girl in the woods. My boy torin coming in HOT.

The way I can feel taste smell everything in this. So far so good.
