37% in and I have laughed out loud so many times

There is something off about this book. No one acts even relatively normal. A mafioso rescues some woman who got her ass beat in the woods, takes her home, and asks her nothing about herself, who assaulted her, why she was hiding in a cabin in the woods, nothing. He just shops for her and cleans up after her and if the do any talking or getting to know each other it’s all off page.

“What do you mean what do we do with it?” I asked.
“Like… how do we… deal with it?”
“Deal with it?” I repeated.
“Why are you parroting me?” she asked, brows pinching.
