not taking issue with the content necessarily, but this is supposed to be a memoir and rather than detailing the life of the author, it has instead focused thus far only on the historical backdrop. one would assume going into the book that the reader would have some cursory knowledge of the history, or otherwise recommend more credible historical sources from which to learn.
