Status Updates From If It Makes You Happy

I was completely wrong about my initial opinion on this book from that one awkward moment- it was actually really cute and heartfelt and made me cry a couple of times ngl lol it kind of reminded me of "when a man loves a woman" in the fact the girl was broken (from her ex husband mistreating her) and the MMC proved to love her throughout all the messy moments, breaking down her walls and making her feel seen & loved~

Things I don’t like: the dog’s “thoughts” are included as conversation (ie dog is anthropomorphized). Like the narrator is saying what the dog would say. It’s not cute.

Set in the 90’s, and the author is trying to throw in so many 90’s pop culture references that it feels overdone.

There is zero chemistry between the main characters.

This book is the reason why I loooove a good contemporary romance!!!

Also… I need it to be FALL immediately!!!

Rereading because I’m obsessed with this damn book
