Genuine question: how does audiobook oversight work? Did nobody notice him constantly saying "remuneration"?

okay. halfway through chapter 4 and he's doing a better job of distinguishing between autism and adhd. #growth

yet another harrowing chapter, but thankfully not as relatable (about high school bullying, which got incredibly physical in the cases of his friends)

robin talking about never getting to know his mother fully, and never getting the chance to have known her the way she was before the crash reminded me a bit of every time my mother told me what I was like before the accident. She's convinced I used to be confident and outgoing but I have no recollection of that. The facts don't lie, though - I definitely had a lot of social connections when I was 2-7.

i will say that im not super keen on his idea that PTSD causes ADHD - there can be overlapping symptoms but that's what led to me not getting a diagnosis until I was 19. while i agree that ADHD is "just a name for a collection of symptoms" (not his words, my old psychologist's) I don't think that'a what he means... and I don't think you need some other condition to get it.

bawled my fucking eyes out at chapter 1 and I'm not even halfway through. i might have to stop writing this update as I might start crying again. god. i wish robin had had access to help sooner - sincerely, someone who also went through a car accident as a child and had the same instinctual reaction and has been in therapy for more years than not at this point.
