Status Updates From The Heart of Winter

There's something about the relationship between the main characters and between them and their children and their families that is rubbing me the wrong way. This is supposed to be this grand love story, but I'm not feeling the love in that family. The visit with family and phone calls all seem very cold and distant. Plus, the idea that anyone would choose to go through deforming surgery at that age seems far fetched
