Ooof not vibing right off the bat. Alternative history that I just not sure I can buy into. Mostly what killed it for me is the lack of believability and it not feeling historical. Lead understands everything from the start despite being ripped from her homeland in Africa, no language issue or culture shock, knows that it is called carpet etc. Acts and thinks in modern ways, has a calling card... seriously why.
