Should read this chapter, Chapter 14, with chapters 2, 3 and 4 from "Managerial Accounting, 17th Edition" by Garrison, Noreen and Brewer. Chapters 4 and 18 of "Horngren's Cost Accounting" will also make a good complement to studying Job-Order Costing.

Finding out the overhead rates were really insightful

Got the main idea but this concept need more attention to detail and rigour. Will get back to this when studying for CMA.

So far, this chapter is very vital in terms of structuring how to assess cost for every detail of an operation (or a total business enterprize). Very fascinating. Very useful.

At Chapter 12, "Cost Allocation"

Already learnt the concepts of "Capital Budgeting" from reading "Corporate Finance". Can skim through this chapter.

Very good lesson learnt about using EVA versus ROI

"Economic Profit and Economic Value Added (EVA)"

Most of this chapter seem dedicated to non-financial aspects of management. Almost like project management.

How do you measure the productivity of software developers?

Lines per code can be misleading. Actual hours worked can be misleading.

Moving to Chapter 8

This chapter definitely require a review with practice. Concepts taught definitely require a lot of practice.

Was a little slower this morning. But this was a thoughtful read.
