This book has the world building elements of Dune. It explores a lot of interesting ideas around spirituality and religion. The “heretic” Oakes is probably going to bring rapture upon the colony because of his own beliefs. The willingness to divide people by category (clone/human) is reminiscent of how today we are so divided by race/class and how much money we have. Herbert had a lot of good warnings for us.

Enjoyable so far. Can see the influence of Herbert for sure. Reminds me of the fourth book in dune. Pacing n structure as well as tone feel similar. Herbert’s world building is like none other.
