Interesting summary. Rather sad that there are few direct quotations in the main text, and that most of the footnotes rarely direct us to de Roover's work on the subject. Nevertheless, there are some interesting ideas in this book.

Mueller's analysis of the problems in neoclassical economics is top notch. I'm glad he admits that these first few chapters are more schematic (86). Looking forward to the rest of the book.

Now on the chapter on neoclassical economics. This revision of the history of economic thought is starting to feel like D'Souza's latest film (Mueller doesn't show any evidence that Auguste Comte read Hume!), but is still an interesting framework.
