I'm equally frustrated and in love the author's truth-in-fiction -- "It's probably pretty evident that this novel was constructed out of some fairly questionable knowledge gleaned from Google, a small, arbitrary stack of library books, a few Netflix DVDs, and my bin of sent e-mails. I'm clearly not an expert in Israeli political fiction, Basque separatism, experimental digital art, or Malian pop music."

"When I said the paramour was rich and famous, I was putting his possessions in earthly terms. Of course, Santuxto's capital is of another sort altogether: it's the erotic capital of his political commitment, or the political capital of his erotic power, however you want to put it." --- I get this. Afterall, I did vote for Obama ;) http://www.polyvore.com/obama_shirtle...

Wow I am fascinated. There are so many blurred lines between fact and fiction and it says so much about truth vs the construction of a narrative both in life and for the purposes of art/writing/creativity. There's so much truth in her fiction- so much that I personally relate to - about the nature of love, relationships, the fluidity of sexuality. All this and yes, I'm only on pg 16.
