"Junie [gazed] over the land... and watched the lightening bugs at night and [felt] a shock in her belly, as though if she could only breathe in a little farther, open her mouth a little wider, she might inhale the whole world and hold it inside of herself. Maybe that's what she ventures to places she isn't meant to go. To chase after the ember that promises a forest fire." (8).
