am enjoying this book but the going has been slow to outside studies. O do not completely accept the authors argument - but it is very plausable and well presented.

Interesting book, laying the ground work for our understanding of Homer being incomplete if we do not recognize the oral tradition as distinct from literature and the transmission if stories in that form as being "new" each time they are performed. Interesting discussion on some of the inconsistencies in the Iliad and Odessy.
