Status Updates From My Darling Dreadful Thing

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this. Although I feel like the plot progression could’ve been succinct & effective without the protagonist’s SA, I think the effects on her as a survivor were realistic & done with sensitivity. I liked the scenes between Roos & Agnes, even though I’m not a fan of age gap pairings. I think the conclusion of the story worked well, even though they weren’t reunited.

I think taking the pills so she can’t see spirits is the best choice for Roos, even though it’s mean forsaking Ruth. Not just bc she’d get to stay with Agnes, but it simply means survival. She’d have safety via a home & income, she wouldn’t have to deal with Thomas. Thomas would just torture her even if Roos somehow fled before he could use her to harm Agnes.

Who could’ve predicted that setting up Thomas for ghostly resurrection would be a bad idea? Some of the other foreshadowing was well done though. Willemijn + Thomas made sense, didn’t surprise me too much h bc of how Willemijn talked about him. Now he’s back & trying to harm them. I wasn’t surprised that Agnes killed him either. I liked the wlw intimacy scene, it was realistic, tasteful, steamy, sweet ☺️
