Status Updates From Volume 0: Issue One

A Spell for Disappearing by Abby Geni (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): This was my favorite sorry in the volume. I’d read this as a full novel honestly. This was a slightly witchy story about a woman that finds out she needs to discreetly leave her lying finance. It was really good.

Heat by Jean Kwok (⭐️⭐️/5): This has been my least favorite story in the volume. I just didn’t vibe with it. I felt a disconnect between all the things going on in the story. It didn’t feel cohesive.

Greensleeves by Christine Vines (⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): This one was super weird. And I honestly don’t know how I felt about it. Imagine not being able to see the color green? Half of your life would be empty. I think I gave this three stars because I didn’t like how determined our main character was to break Tom down. He was a little weird, but sweet. She shouldn’t have been so pushy about him seeing green.

Lemon Boy by Puloma Ghosh (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): I actually really liked this one. It was super weird. But I was definitely here for it. I liked lemon boy.

The Reclamation by Lena Valencia (⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): This one was alright. It definitely kept me intrigued. I liked the culty vibes and our unreliable narrator towards the end. This story just showed how people will pretty much do anything an influencer says if they think that’s what they do, what makes them successful. Without even questioning it.

The Next Husband Game by Mary Jones (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): This story was only 3 pages long. But I quite enjoyed it. It was about a husband and wife who always pointed out the things wrong with the other in a “game” they played. Called my next husband/wife. Which is obviously toxic as heck. But I liked it.

The Hot Girl by Juliet Escoria (⭐️⭐️⭐️/5): This was a pretty basic story. But I guess in the end it was about life not always being fair. Someone can do something wrong and not fully get punished for it. Which happens in real life. And that people are awful.
