Status Updates From カグラバチ 2 [Kagurabachi 2]

The Dad's name was Kunishige I need to lock in and remember that. I suck at remembering Japanese names. One thing this book is certainly great at is PACE, we've already got the next "villain", who since they work for the Kamunabi I'm sure is a decent person and may even become a friend of Chihiro. We'll see! But it's the classic, "Hey we need to go hunt the MC now." it's happening so early. I'm along for the ride.

Chapter 17 - The fight vs. Sojo was fantastic. Them "eating" together was quite unexpected but such a cool scene, the contrast between their beliefs and interpretations on what Kenichiro Rokuhira believed. It's what his father said, "Look at the world through your own eyes." Which is what both Chihiro and Sojo are doing. Sojo has been proven "wrong" in a sense. Amazing art, that last panel is simply stupendous.

Chapter 14/15 - This was the peak of the manga thus-far. Some amazing flashbacks for both Chihiro & Char. Chihiro seemingly taps into that “beyond theoretical” realm of the blade. He becomes more himself, not his Dad. After all, he’s the one who cared for the goldfish. Char and her mom learned that if you simply keep going, you can always find happiness. Very nice chapters and the quality stays this way I hope.

Chapter 13 - Really cool fight with the Elite. I like the magic system in this manga, and that's a very important thing to have to like. I think Cloud Gouger and these element based powers are fascinating to see drawn and it's just simple fun. I like the development of rivalry between Sojo & Chihiro. Hope to see some more work on character soon, the fights and action are good, though.

Chapter 12 - I’m really quite enjoying this story. There are some darker aspects I wasn’t quite expecting and I think the reason they need Char is gruesome for sure, but cool.
The Kamunabi are a new group of characters, potentially fodder depending on how the story goes. It’s fun having a revenge-driven main character be surrounded with his father’s childhood friends. On to Char’s rescue.
