A halfway point rant: Percy is timid in not a fun way but more of a lil bitch way. They’re both too emotionally mature for the time.. like no one’s being weird and avoiding eye contact for days they’re just.. talking about their feelings?? Glen Lloyd’s inflection is pissing me tf off. HOW DID I LOVE RED DIRT HEART SO MUCH WHEN EVERY THING ELSE HAS BEEN TRASH

DNF at about 38% because I got a not insignificant collection of library books that have to take priority. I have only read for about 2hrs I'd prefer to start again rather than try picking up from midway through.

I'm enjoying this. It's very readable. But it is so difficult to remember how young (through a modern lens) Albie and Percy are, 19 and 18 respectively. It doesn't feel wrong perse, 1882 was a very different time, age meant different things then.
