The image of Margaret Fuller sleeping on the dinner table in a bar-room surrounded by twenty other women, one being a young lady "who showed herself to have been bathed in the Britannic fluid" by staying up all night properly dressed with her lace cap upon her head should someone walk in, is one of my favorite scenes (33). I had forgotten how funny and poetic her writing is.
