Status Updates From Kilt Trip

Huh, I’m missing the pay-off. Addie goes on a road trip to visit a castle that’s part of her heritage (or something) and when she arrives she parks the van (makes a deal with Logan about something) and the next chapter skips to a few days later.

What was it like for her to visit that castle? Envisioning that her mother had visited once too?

Did everything have to be such a goddamn battle?

I think you started the battle, Logan. Can’t blame other people for keeping their guard up.

I have the distinct feeling Addie knows next to nothing about the psychology of tourists. Tourists in Scotland love any castle, as long as it looks like something that has been around for a few centuries.

History and ghost stories help.
Ugh, she first liked Logan because he was a good storyteller. Now she dismisses a castle on his tour because she’s never heard of it. Rather than ask him what the story of it is.

HR persons talking about employees with external contractors; office pranks that attract vermin, or are meant to gaslight someone?

Also curious: why hire an American consultant for something a local consultant can also tell you, at much lower travel expences? Is Neil getting mates rates?

Things I would like to be made illegal in books: people having a foodgasm (moaning or groaning) when the put the first bite of food in their mouth.

Particularly when that food is pub grub.

She’s docking points for having a guided tour that is unlike everybody else’s. I guess she’s not one of those consultants that tell you that you have to be unique to stand out.

A moment ago Addie was set to miss the first half hour of the tour and now she has managed to catch up with them. What happened? How did she manage that?
