I am now at the part about SA 🇿🇦 and its water issues. And oh, how accurate it is for Madagascar as well. Water management issues are not only about climate, it is also about corruption, racism and capitalism !!!!!

“What we need to realise is that these challenges are not natural, nor are they God-given; they have developed over time” - most effects not because of CC per se but poor management exacerbating effects for diff communities (some more than others = point of the book so far)

My goal is to finish this book by the end of the year (or before that even, why not?). There are so much facts, and so much to learn and discover in this book that I just cannot wait to finish it. Dr Fredi is such a great great great communicator!

Key point: There're no available data on the heat waves occurring in Africa. Most African countries' meteorological institutions do not track heat waves, so no data are reported to the government or international research institutions. Hence, governments cannot adopt clear and effective plans to face future, more deadly heat waves. Yes, they'll become deadlier (climate change is saying hi!)
