An die Erzählweise, dass ein Ich-Erzähler im Rückblick seine Lebensgeschichte erzählt, muss ich mich erst gewöhnen

the book became significantly better after the point that the kid met his mentor. the last quest wasn't too bad and the number of repetitive sentences reduced noticeably. still, the main characteristics (bad copy of Rothfuss and kind of undistinguished) remain. when I read that the author is only 23, I cut him some slack. maybe he will get better. or not. in amy case, this one was just ok.

This book is incredibly well written. I love the author's style of narration - as if I am sitting at the bar with Dagan, listening to his life's story over a nice frothy pint. So far the twists have been great, and I like the glimpses of the world that are sprinkled throughout. The book hasn't been bogged down by exposition and description, and I'm glad it's been that way because the plot is moving steadily.
