I feel so bad for low-key hating on this queer Desi novel but like
Ugghhh
Maybe it was a situation of 'ok book, wrong time' idk

Stuff that was definitely cool was, obviously the Desi setting, but also the fact that the main character doesn't instantly know how to use her powers and so continues to screw up

Idk all in all 3.7 tbh

Why is her brother tagging along? So their mother doesn't like idk find out he helps her escape. What is the relevance here
And SHE HAD SOMEONE CHASING HER AND YOU BRING THAT UP NOW ONLY FOR HIM TO BE LIKE "OUHH I MEAN I SUPPOSE FATHER WAS WRONG AND LYING ALL THIS TIME AND YOU DESERVE TO SAVE UR GF"

They're riding to like rescue her girlfriend and stuff and she's on the horse with her brother
That's fine, whatever

But then like
The times her brother speaks, she keeps saying it as “Lochan [her brother] whispered in her ear” like I'm sorry, she can hear you just fine, you can speak just fine, pretty sure you did this like twice before like wtaf it's just creepy asf

Ngl the book is disappointingly boring to read :(
