Reading too many Murakami and I began to develop a fear, that the protagonist will eventually sleep with any character of the opposite gender. Thankfully it didn't happen in the 2nd story.

Story 3 is ok, 3.5/5, some of the writing is just hilariously absurd.

3rd story. Ah, sex-themed again. The 2nd story might be the only one where sex appeared as the form of jokes....

But, this 3rd story might be good. Also, funny!

the 2 stories share a concept of "emptiness" inside, somewhat brought on, or relates to, the earthquake event

The 2nd story kind of gave me the shivers. The ending is so eerie. It's a story about living but feeling like the dead. I feel it might be deeper than that but my mind cannot fathom it at the moment. Score: 3.5/5

Hey the 2nd story actually starts off with a bit of humour. Sex humour, but still funny.

UFO in Kushiro: 1st story in the book. Has an eerie vibe (along with Murakami's usual sex plotline). An unreal experience of the character accepting his wife's fate.
