Status Updates From Tempest at Annabel's Lighth...

I liked the twists and turns in this book. The relationship with the husband, Pete, and author wife were also relatable.

"I belong to you, Rebecca. You're my wife."

Me: devestated

What is going on?!? I am so confused. I am so invested!

"The Porcupine Mountains and the lake boasted tales of hardship, of vicious winters and blistering summers. It captured the spirit of its original people while it inhabited the dreams of newcomers. It was a place of rock and earth, of greed and ambition, of nature and wanderlust. The lake was a place of ghosts."

That's a very cool way to describe a place... but after reading this book I never want to go there.

"I chose you, Shea. The good, the bad, the ugly, the day-to-day mundane of you. I chose you because that's the gift I was given. I just had to say yes to it. And I did. I mean... God gave me you. No bells. No whistles. Just you. And I've always been content with that."

How is this turning out to be the most realistic and romantic book I've ever read? I'm swooning.
