VOL 1 - seems a bit back to front, assuming we know things from 'before' presumes we know about character called Sam despite him being dead. Flee cabin, cave, HANK hampering them at every opportunity, shoot out with Prophet Saul, go to village discover safe water.
VOL 2 - in cabin, 2 days after Sam has died, worried about poisonous rain

Fells like book in wrong order!
