Read Parineeta after a long time of not reading in Hindi, so naturally, took me a while to get through it.

Quite different from the movie! An interesting read into the constraints of class and society, especially when you consider that it was written in the early 1900s!

When even the author doesn't like you, Shekhar knows how it feels.

Shekhar is like a major red flag and also no way is he in his 20s?? He's so childish...

Already the age gap makes me iffy but since it's in 1914, I can get past it (for the story) but Shekhar, like Devdas, is a selfish and privileged man and I don't like him.

Already struggled with the first sentence lol but anyways

This gonna be even harder...my Bengali reading (despite being my mother tongue) is way too weak
