Status Updates From Wedding of the Foxes: Essays

"When I take out the Banko ware teapot now, it's because I want to remember. How sometimes when one body reaches toward another body, the space between them isn't space."

I'm wondering if this will be a purchase. There's so much that feels resonant. Like I could read these essays over and over again and take some new weight from them each and every time.

Larson writes about the Sonora in ways that make me ache for home. Not a thing easily accomplished.

I've loved most of these essays, but "The Crane Wife" is by far my favorite. At least, so far...

It was very surreal to read this beautiful title essay and find a reference to an art installation I have been to (and maybe made out inside). Just this incandescent moment of connection with a writer I know very little about. How glorious.

"Mending is a thing that continues."

That line took my breath.

Oh, I should have started this sooner. One essay in and I can tell this isn't a book to be rushed through. This is a sipper.
