“What a radical concept to consider, that a meaningful sense of purpose came not from trying to figure myself out, but instead from shifting my focus off of myself all together”
“I learned to bear struggle by sharing it with others, who shared theirs with me in return. That connection offered what no doctor, pill or psych ward could ever give me.We are vulnerable for a reason”

“Personality disorder had become the predominate way to box womens strong emotions&socially unaccepted behaviors into a medical category. After John Gunterson coined the Borderline personality diagnosis in the 1970s,it fast became the go to label for frustrated husbands, parents, and psychiatrists eager to pathologies women who refuse to cooperate.”

Laura is really lucky to have a family who are well to do &can afford for her to have different treatment options&hospital support.I relate to her as far as the medicines we were prescribed;we had both been too trusting of our DRs/the times +we were way over medicated while our doctors got perks for overprescribing us. I wonder if she’s going to end up just being neurodivergent like me

“US spends far more on healthcare but has THE WORST health outcomes.Among their strategies, managed care organizations incentives DRs to use cheaper interventions&hospitals to discharge their patients ASAP.These new incentives prompted other Psych institutions to shift patients from inpatient hospitals into pharmacological drugs.Medicate the patient to get them stabilized&then get them out of there ASAP!7:59:36Left

“In the regime of pills I ingested w/hopes that they would bring me stability&show me what it felt like to be happy/peace of mind. That they would maybe 1day,even provide me with feeling somewhat normal.Who was I to question any of it?I wasnt a DR,no graduate school or an expert in brain biochemistry.IDK how to interpret scientific research/comprehend dense pharmacological info.DR made an oath to do no harm, rite?
