Status Updates From The Pearl That Broke Its Shell

This is one book I had on my TBR list for nearly a decade after reading The kite runner and A thousand splendid suns, I wanted to learn more about Afghanistan and their lives before and after the Soviet Invasion and how it shaped everything. I am nearing the end of the book, it was a slow start because I was not grasping it's theme at the start but as the book progressed it is a very intriguing and thoughtful book.
