Status Updates From Gypsy (The Cavy Files, #1)

So far, so good. Can't put it down

Oh, I've hit a point in this book where I want to rant so hard but yet to do so would break my own personal rule about spoilers, and since I react to things like a normal person, I'm not going to do that.

I'm just going to say that if that character had said that to me, their buddy would have been scraping them off the floor. In pieces.

Okay one petty nitpick about the book. The group calls themselves the Cavies. For those that don't know, this is a cavy:



Yes, a guinea pig. So every time I see the word, that's what I think of. It really is a nitpick and doesn't affect the quality of the story in a major way but, hm.

"...when it occurs to me that not one of our mothers is alive." (pg 59)

M'hm. I should probably be more invested in that and less annoyed that they keep switching between their "Cavy" names and "normal" names so I have to remember Norah=Gypsy, Shiloh=Mole, etc.

Also, what a crap power Norah/Gypsy got stuck with. File that under things I just don't want to know about people I care about.

*Slightly better but aww, Robert. Poor man. Now... can we trust you?

Roughly 10% in according to my kindle so too early to form much of an opinion. I'm not sure if I think the action flows quickly or is rushed. We shall see.

I have trouble feeling compassion for someone who is so easy to leave the only family she has known.

I am really liking this book.
