Status Updates From Stag Dance

did not like infect your friends and loved ones at all. The message felt like I was reading a high schooler trying to be deep. Also for a book labeled to be catered towards trans people she sure loved to show a single trans man in this story and immediately demonize him. Though it seems just all the characters are not meant to be liked yet I’m supposed to sympathize. Also like stuff just gets said with no context.

the first story was compelling but abrupt… Never really took flight, but i’ll be rereading.

the second story… Tears. Simple and beautiful and heartbreaking. this is an interesting one

"Like, how pretty did they think I was last week? Six satin panties, a $20 Sephora gift card, and a Modcloth.com retro-style dress worth of pretty."

Whew that's a very 2010s description

Currently over halfway (I think) through the titular Stag Dance novel though because of the length, I wonder if it'd be more accurate to call it a novella even though it's longer than Inject Your Friends and Loved Ones?

Thoughts on The Chaser story - two vengeful ex stories in a row! Though I think with both, the narrators share the theme of being too cowardly to say their thoughts outloud re: desire or lack of.
