Status Updates From Conan the Barbarian: Battle...

Not a fan of Scharf's jaw and facial structure for Conan - makes him look like a dumb brute. Otherwise most the art works well and flows with the story. As for the story, the introduction of all these Howard characters works and getting them all together also works...but what's the point if they're just there to die? Seems a ridiculous waste after all the hard work. At least Conan, El B, and Kane seem on character.

Received this as a surprise anonymous gift so who am I not to read it right away?!

Pretty cool consistent art really helps contribute to the building tenseness of prologue and Chpt 1. Conan acts like Conan which is great, mostly looks like him. I'm holding opinion on involving all these far-flung Howard characters, but I do especially like El Borak's reaction to the sigil. Good start, thrills and excitement abound!
