Laurent’s mind blanked, skittered from the thought. It was too hot in the tent. As if he knew it was needed, Uncle’s hand cupped the back of his neck, cool fingers burrowing between collar and flesh, a silent offering of comfort.

This is *Captive Prince* from Laurent’s perspective. It begins with Marla. Auguste is dead, and Laurent’s father, too. The Regent is laying his greasy fingers on the back of Laurent’s neck. It captures the tone of the original series perfectly. And considering that *Captive Prince* came about in a similar way... I think it’s a fantastic addition, and it satisfies the craving for Laurent.
