- "I should like to hear a few of those legends sometime". "You need only ask." Infuriating!

- loved the action scene even though we could only hear it
- loved the cauldron scene but again too long

- "you have questions" is the unofficial subtitle of this book
- have to pause this for now, but I'll come back to it shortly

- reading this because of a recc, I love Victorian mystery and this is paranormal too
- sadly it's a little too slow so far, good style but for an example we don't need more than one page to describe a blood oath (sharing blood)
- love the Egyptian myth parts
- Elizabeth getting sorted into "Slytherin" by default is fun

Despite the first person POV, I feel the heavy style gets in the way of knowing these characters.

Might revisit at some point, but I'm not looking for this type of writing right now.
