Status Updates From The Lodger

This book has used the word queer maybe 10,000 times to the point where it is almost every other page. P sure they had thesauruses in 1911 but w/e.

Random singular use of the n word mid way through the book that didn't relate to anything in the plot ??

Plot is good, pacing is excellent, characters are fun, themes are rich, 4.5* rounded down so far

Mr and Mrs Bunting, about to lose their house/business, are living in fear of destitution and then a mysterious, eccentric stranger arrives in the middle of the night and offers to pay a month of lodgings on the spot. The Bunting's can't believe their luck. Cries of 'Killer' echo through the London streets. I'm so freaking geeked I'm hooked already !!
