This is so peak, Chopin's correspondence with Solage is so wholesome. Diving into the currency of the time and learning about Chopin's lavish concert life was so fascinating.

I'd been way too tired to keep track of my progress but here are some of his lines that I like very much:
"I don't listen to the compliments; they seem to me stupider and stupider. I wish I were dead"
"I'm puzzled, I'm melancholy, I don't know what to do with myself; I wish I weren't alone!"
"The sky is as beautiful as your soul; the earth as black as my heart."
"I am not fit for human beings"

Was asked to perform concerts with his own Rondo à la Krakowiak in F major, Op. 14 (composed at the age of 18 and is considered a level 8 of 9 in the Henle difficulty ranking) in Vienna where he began to be seen and fame followed — all at the age of 19. His writing in general is also just so affectionate whilst witty. Don't ask me why I'm so obsessed with this man. 😭😭😭
