I really enjoyed ‘Plezure’ , especially the first ten pages.

‘Dotch Masher and the Planet M M’ is absolutely delicious, following on thematically from the first story. Vivid, cartoonish and camp, it pulls the homosexuality out from the pulp. Laugh out loud funny.
‘Hazard Pay’ is sweet and lovely. No twink deaths here.
Two very strong stories that serve the concept well.

Thoughts:
1. ‘In the Garden of the Serpent King’ - I think that this is a great mission statement that epitomises the stated intention of this collection: to write in the genre of pulp fiction magazines whilst investigating the latent racism of the genre and enjoying, reclaiming and celebrating its queerness. Outrageous, colourful and exaggerated.
2 and 3 were good too. 3 aided my understanding of pulp.
