I can already see why this isn't rated higher. She goes for grim, stays in grim, adds some more grim, finds new grim, returns to the original grimness and general foreboding, and now more grim, new grim, grim, grim, grim. There's no levity or reprise. I'm reminded of Charlotte's review of Where the World Ends. Geraldine is GRIM.

I'm not loving this one. Too many creatures not well enough described - I've no idea what anything looks like and it's just pages of vague shapes chasing these guys to the sea at this point.
