Status Updates From Daybook: Diario de una artista

I fear I may have overestimated the sophistication of my taste at the moment - this feels too much like a creative puzzle for my brain.

I do believe I’ve picked this up at the right time 😌

Truitt’s prose is elegant and elegiac, and despite being rather dense, has felt like a balm to my soul in the last year or so as I ploughed through Daybook in between reading other things. Her meditations on her various roles are so well wrought. I’m actually quite sad that I’m reaching the end of the journal soon — thankfully I can always reread a book.
