The second chapter on childhood was eye opening and written from a clear place of experience and wisdom. The author really values her children’s free time, creative freedom, personal passions and interests, and her role of preserving those things for them by giving them opportunities to pursue them organically and by removing things that prevent it in a healthy and loving way that her children seem to appreciate

So far, really affirming. The very first chapter of the book is about motherhood, the things it lacks in modern society and the ways we can fall into the pit of never feeling like we have enough time or enough of ourselves to go around, ways we can romanticize motherhood, find ourselves again, and be more present for our children. By the end I felt so appreciated and grateful that I can do what I do for my family.
